Whats on your amp workbench?
Because... guitars are easy to make eh
I did a bit of a photolovestory making Lauries baffle today.
I tend to cut baffles to size after the cab is jointed - because, 2mm can make a shit load of difference for a fit. I wish my cabs were perfect, but pine and jointing and auckland humidity.
Lauries box has been jointed for a week or so, and has settled. So 9mm pine baffle in progress. So some pics...
Start of the day, just put another coat of tweed on my vibrolux. I'd left this plain without anything for months. I grew to hate it. So this week have been making it look spesh.
Since I stopped smoking, envelopes have to do
Finished the routing, It can be a nightmare - use your newest and sharpest cutter - 1/4"

Its not enough that we succeed, we still need others to fail

This is my circular routing setup.
The usual bosch thing is crap. Turn it upside down, put a bolt through it... yay! win!

Very cool. Every time I view these cab builds I want to get into it myself. Been ruminating on a 1x15.

Now now Molly, enough of that or I'll put up photos of my leg, that will be enough to make you lose your lunch.
Actually, I am that bored in here the boss dropped off a laptop and some work for me to do, never thought I'd say it but I'll enjoy the work.

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?
So.. managed a good 4 hours in the workshop today.
1/ Realised I didn't have templates for 5e3 back panels. I always seem to do them by hand.
2/ Made a set of back panel templates for a 5e3 of course - and a set of back panels for the Laurie build
3/ Finished my vibrolux finally - it got no shellac before, now its looking awesome. pics below.
4/ Removed the old burgundy grille cloth from the vibrolux and refinished with some deluxe grille cloth.
5/ Completed all woodwork on the Laurie build. Wasn't happy with the grille cloth, and it would have been too tight with the cab when tweeded. So destapled it, planed it and restapled. Yeah happy.
Drank some scrumpy

This is the vibrolux in its natural environment, awaiting a wounded gazelle. Hopefully the tribe will eat tonight.
