Moved the B+ regulator to a better location, (goodbye stand-by switch) and added some 'istors'... A Therm and a Var... for in-rush current limiting and over voltage protection. These amps are a hoot :)

Which channel do you tend to gravitate towards? There’s a Valve Junior locally that I’m thinking of picking up and swapping out the board on, either for a Baby Will (the vol/tone channel) or Superlite (the TMB channel)

On this amp definitely the TMB. Would depend on your circuit tho. On this amp, the V/T channel is warm, sounds good with strat but dark with Humbuckers. I will dig out the schematic so you can have a look.

the gut shots are the Marshall clone before and after, may have posted one of them before, but it’s done now, back in it’s shell and going hard like it should.

Added a ppi master volume on the back panel. Well, I didn’t, Bill did!

the Warrener is Optimus in it’s new guise.

I was going to get a head shell from Bg but my uncle offered to make a Rimu box instead.

It’s not actually quite what I wanted; I wanted a more regular Marshall type shell, and tolex wears better in the van etc, but can’t turn helpful family down!

It’s cool, but I’ve already dinged it very slightly just getting it out of the car, oops!

I set about .making a faceplate for a mini rectifier. The metal grille is part of the legacy but it's not really my thing. My other recto has a faceplate made of flamed vitex, the leftovers of which made this one for it's little bro.

Using the original one as a template.

Then stain it black, sand it back, stain it purple, hit it with some clearcoat.

5E3 clone, finally finished.

I’d intended putting a 12” speaker in but Toany was selling a Jensen alnico 10” so I’ve used that :)

Optimus looks fabulous! It only took 4 changes of face but this is the one. Don't change a thing!

I've never been so conflicted to send off an amp or so glad in retrospect that I did.

Thanks for loaning it to me all those years Tony; we had some great times together.

RobbietheMac took mere seconds to dismiss my 10"Princeton in favour of Jay's 12 but for home use, I really prefer the 10. And for recording, I reckon I'd still prefer it.

I'm curious about those, what do you think?

I think they’re FUGLY but other than that, it has the interaction you’d expect, it’s not a handwired thing of beauty but does what it says in the tin.

I’ve yet to give it an extended play due to it being out of its headshell for months waiting for me to find an alnico…

I love me some 10” alnico, in tweed though, not sure about anything else. My vibrolux loves alnico

You are most welcome!

I wouldn’t change a thing…I did try adding an fx loop, but there wasn’t room for the extra circuitry so flagged it.

As you may have picked up from various posts on the forum, I’ve had some well respected amps in the last few months but Optimus just keeps smokin them and they get sold…

Although today I grabbed a Supro Delta King and it’s really tickling my fancy…great fun drive, full noise!

I could be led astray by something Supro....
