Tweed deluxe head cab...
Had tweed and pine so made a head cab for a deluxe. Fit your head in here and play it through your marshall Quad! Or every other cab you own
Tweed head cab, deluxe/5e3 cutout and depth... antiqued finish. Dovetailed pine, its a cracker. If you have a 5E3 deluxe or similar in a combo, you could put it in this and use your fav cabs! Price is $300. Happy to cut deals, no handle or feet yet.

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: Tweed deluxe head cab...
This one now has one of Mikes 5e3 Deluxe builds in it. I have to say that the quality is on par with the best boutique builders out there. The attention to detail is superlative. I did a quick test blat through it earlier - and I remember why I love Tweeds and Strats, a match made in heaven. Looking forward to cranking it the next time the missus is out, and with any luck I can get to play some guitar through this amp too!
Not sure if I want to keep it as a head, the idea was to be able to try with different cabs and speakers, like through a 4x12 etc, but I might want to just do a stereo thing with my vibrolux, so another standard deluxe cab might be needed. Till then.... it sounds like larks singing through the Jensen in my vibrolux. Or build a tweed 1x12. Decisions decisions etc
Pics later or on a sunny day!

Yep, I've jointed the main cab and will start on the reverb cab tomorrow. Tweed arrived yesterday so will be good to go! Waiting for handles, feet and grille cloth. I have enough to complete the reverb so will concentrate on that!

Re: Tweed deluxe head cab...
Both cabs now jointed, will start on the rounding over etc this week. Was reluctant to hit the dungeon today due to the rain and cold but got down there and made a fucktonne of sawdust
Sadly I had to spend 2 hours fitting a new toilet seat too. This involved removing the toilet and grinding one of the bolts off. Shit never gets easy eh?
yeah pun intended...

Its a good thing I warned the missus that it could take some time, big jobs like this are never easy, I just knew something would get stuck etc.Mike Clayton wrote:But still very important to shit

Re: Tweed deluxe head cab...
Where do you buy your tolex BG?
I just added tolex, grill, piping valves, etc to cart on two suppliers, exactly the same parts & quantities:
- NewOldSounds USD 125 + USD 65 shipping
- AmplifiedParts USD 95 + USD 102 shipping.
I am gobsmacked by the shipping charges?
Your experience too?

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
