If you turn the tone control all the way down it sounds quite decent, otherwise it’s pretty meh.Mattallica wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 11:25 am Boss RV6 has shimmer. No idea where it sits quality wise

Tone is subjective though, it may sound sweet to Slowy's ears but sound average to another one's ears

I'm just looking for a light, orchestral strings shimmer to fill out an acoustic guitar.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

look out for a cheap line6, m5, m9, m13 or verbzilla have them iirc.
cool and cheap enough for how often you use it. Plus extra goodies to play with that you may want to piddle around with.

I have a Boss DD500 for sale which has a nice shimmer setting. Plus you get all the other excellent boss delays and looper included.
Loving it so far

Re: Recommend me a Shimmer pedal
I actually don't think that's possible.
But in this case, I'm building a tone:
I've got the electric Nylon string, Punchy, percussive and very clear.
Through a drive pedal, delay and compressor into the Harmony amp set as loud as possible without feedback.
The amp is delivering touch sensitive distortion and the whole thing is sounding bloody glorious.
I think shimmer would be a great new colour in this palette.

Didn’t realise how popular shimmer was amongst effects builders now.
Was the Edge the first to really use it? I remember when all the Edge sound guys were trying to work out what it was they were hearing.

Right. In a perfect world, someone will look at the Grand Canyon and think, " This pedal does many things. I would like to explore these many things. I will offer Slowy my Strymon Blue Sky or Neunaber Immerse which does fewer things in exchange."
This is a path to happiness.
Yes?

I'm curious about this as an alternative...but I still think you are right about not really being able to improve on your guitars.
