Turretboard Fuzz Face

Hey guys
First post here so I thought I'd show you what I have been up to recently.
Here'y first attempt at a turretboard Fuzz Face, I've built a few since this one and have tweaked a few aspects to make it cleaner and easier to build.

BC108 is Silicon
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Yeah silicon, I've just finished one with nos bc209c that I found in a parts haul from trademe. Sounds great!

So clean and tidy. Nice work.
Random question, but do you use solid core wire? Just asking cos it seems to be in such a uniform shape?

Yeah the cloth covered wire is pre tinned so effectively solid!

Does that sort of wire effect the tone?
