Chorus pedal advice

Post by Merlet »

Im looking for a good all round chorus pedal https://bestelectricguitars.reviews/best-chorus-pedals/ , entirely transparent (won't colour my guitar or amp sound too much), analogue, somewhere in the region of the Homebrew THC or Red Witch Empress. i loved the sound of these two and also the Boss CE-2 keeley mod.
Tell me about the most amazing chorus pedals you ever did hear.
Some cheap ones would be good too

For a DIY build? Madbean’s Porkbarrell is a CE2 clone, sounds absolutely beautiful. The build I most regret selling. http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/index.html

Friends don't let friends use chorus. :shifty:
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

If you can find one, the Ibanez CS-505 (79 - 81 I think) is pretty special :-)

This but spendy

I've seen them pop occasionally on TM and I thought the price was quite reasonable. I bought mine in 1981 and have used it since :-)

Aye true enough. $170 from what I last heard.

If you're doing it DIY the parts are about $50 from PedalPCB and Tayda.

I'm a big fan of using modulated delay for my chrous needs, I use a big box Deluxe Memory Man on vibrato mode, but most modulated delays sound great, just thought I'd put it out there in case you haven't tried it, sort of has similar advantages to using a wet dry rig, you get modulation without it messing with your core tone and sounding like it's to much. Best of luck, otherwise the was a CE-1 for sale here recently don't think you could find a better sounding chrous than that.

CE-2W would be my pick - amazing CE-2 tones AND you get the added bonus of the OG CE-1 chorus and vibrato sounds as well.

Are you looking to build your own? You posted this on the diy forums so I presumed you were looking for circuits etc. Is that not the case?

The Camoflange has killer chorus sounds in it and a blend knob so you can get really out there effects but just add it to your tone in a subtle way. It's really impressive.

LOL. I read the thread title and thought about similar advice. Can't hear a chorus without being transported back to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Sorry, dropped-off there for a moment. Well, 3am so I guess it's time to get up and walk around my house.
