You can do either with the one plug! It's quite a nice design in that way, there's just a slot which the cable bends into if you want right angle :)

they are clearly in need of a boycott. I have a jane here that used to be a jack, changed sizes to a 3.5mm and back again and now is a socket. Fucking useless for anything other than saying 'some of my best jane/jack/plug/sockets are genderless
