Uh Oh - Murky's popped his Fender cherry.....
Somewhat surprisingly, the first Fender amp I've ever owned.
1974. Pretty much all original. 120v. CTS alnicos. Ground switch doesn't tingle when I lick it.
Heading off to Mike for some love....

Yeah, it's probably a bit quiet for the suburbs.

I did not. Don’t know Rob, but clearly he has impeccable taste.

I am curious about the second speaker output. Onboard speakers are already wired at 2ohm, so you probably wouldn’t add external speakers. Maybe the intent was two 4 ohm external cabinets?

Guitarist for Dave McCartney's Pink Flamingoes, The Blue Rhythym Hounds, owner of a L series Strat and an early Firebird ex Little River Band. Owner of Hawkes Bay Agencies so very useful and a thoroughly excellent bloke to boot.
Come to think of it, his was 240v.
I put a screwdriver through one of the speaker cones. It was not my best day.

Where's the second speaker output? The jack next to the speaker plug is a line level out.

Re: Uh Oh - Murky's popped his Fender cherry.....
Did they split the signal after the preamp section or something? Otherwise would have to have a passive load somewhere between the power section and line out, right?

Re: Uh Oh - Murky's popped his Fender cherry.....
There's a channel I've followed for several years by a fella called Mathew Scott. He gets old barn find guitars and does them up just enough to be playable. Then he blasts them thru various Super Reverb and other Fender amps.
His '68 silverface with JBLs sounds great for his style of playing. I do not know if a 70s one has the same spec and tones, but any good tech can make it '68 or even Blackface spec just by changing a few little things (non-destructive and reversible too, so no worries about messing with originality etc -- apart from the JBLs have a different baffle, so getting the really nice tone he gets here would be a major modification I guess).
