I think the chap mentioned something that it is really good for classically trained guitarists. The upper rear bout is cut out so it can rest on your left leg.jeremyb wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 12:53 pmBarre chord players are definitely not the target marketCapt. I looked at this quickly, and read 'The upper rear bout is cut out so you can rest your left leg on it.'Jay wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:50 pmI think the chap mentioned something that it is really good for classically trained guitarists. The upper rear bout is cut out so it can rest on your left leg.jeremyb wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 12:53 pmBarre chord players are definitely not the target marketCapt. Sorry about that—those were my amps. Was only for a few mins until we've adjusted the level to some degree. I did bring it up the noise with Jack and there were quite a few people interested. I’m not sure how much it would’ve helped the buyer if they couldn’t hear anything at all. Other booths (tone merchants and ramays booth)were also playing their amps throughout the day and was a busy first hour. Even i had to go out a bit to take a break from the noise. Don't think you'll be able to hear anyone in general. Would’ve been totally fine if you’d just brought it upNippleWrestler wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 2:00 pm Been and gone. I'm glad it's there and things like this exist but there's not a great deal to see, and you can't actually chat with the vendors because the guy by the door demonstrating some amps totally overpowers the room and you can't hear anything the people are saying, until there's a lull in the widdling and then you're shouting at each other. Reading the room mustn't be a strong suit.
There's a couple of Gibsons on offer, a classic for $3k seemed the best of the deals. I did notice it was either beginner stuff or high end stuff and nothing in the middle in the $600-1200 bracket.
I think it would have been nice to have spent more time and chat a little more but I honestly couldn't due to amp guy. Shame.
Keen to display amps with you and Mike in the next one! Hopefully we can do an nzg stand haha
I must be classically trained as thats my preferred knee for any guitar, I never seem to balance properly on the right kneeJay wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:50 pmI think the chap mentioned something that it is really good for classically trained guitarists. I've always played Strats on the right knee but I seem to have better luck with Les Pauls on the left knee
Thats probably why my default is the leftblackstratblues wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:07 pmI've always played Strats on the right knee but I seem to have better luck with Les Pauls on the left knee![]()
I think that's a really good assessment of them. They facilitate classical posture and technique.
