Just running the Katana through a closed back quad makes the world of difference imo.jeremyb wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 11:45 amThats a pretty darn perfect rock'n'roll pairing I reckon! The katana speakers are a repro of the greenback, interested to know how they compare!
I unplugged my quads yesterday from the Katana and just ran the combo, but just the open back combo sounded weird and small. I'm sure a day or two and my ears would adjust, but its quite the difference.
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..

You could also run it into the power amp in on my katana head and see how it sounds with a cab, that input is designed around preamps and amp modellers to use it as a power amp

Not sure, I don’t actually know how to run the new system.
It’s a digital Behringer X32 if someone knows anything about them?

Re: Christchurch Gearfest - 22nd August 2020
It’s the 18watt EL84 amp I posted about a couple of weeks ago.
It’s somewhere between a Marshall and a Vox with an EF86 preamp
Still looks like this untill I either build a head or combo case for it
