Floyd Tomfoolery jam....

Post by Bg »

Ok here it is in all its dodgy one take splendour. All recorded in logic pro, all recorded by guitar :)
I've left the rhythm track off so you can add that in as well if you wish.
10 spaces on this, leave me the last spot please. Each spot is about a minute long and 16 bars in length.

Rules:

Download the file, post that you're taking a spot, record your spot and post it back to your soundcloud (or wherever). Don't say you're taking the spot then leave it for 4 days to record it i.e. grab the spot, record and post back - in the same day.

Despite what it looks like, its stereo, lets keep it that way.

128kbs minimum

Don't play so loud that the backing track disappears ;)

Have at ye!

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

OK team... Soundcloud my effort added as the first section: https://soundcloud.com/sirvill/nzg-floydy-backing-track

Whoever wants to be second, download it, add yours second, and then upload the results! Something I learned - click the pencil icon and choose "Enable Downloads" so people can download it.

Also, I think the last note of my lead is still going in the first bar of the next section - I'm guessing it'll be fine and might be quite cool for someone to pick up on, but if it ruins an idea you've got, let me know and I'll rework the source file to cut it shorter.

Nothing like recording stuff to show up how not good you sound!!! haha.

If anyone's interested:
- lead guitar was Warmoth Strat neck pickup -> Mammoth J201 Boost -> Mesa Mark V 25 Clean Channel (fat mode) -> Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail delay -> Mesa Theile Cab -> Audix i5 mic.
- rhythm track was Warmoth Strat middle + neck pickup -> Helix Phaser -> Mesa Mark V 25 Clean Channel (fat mode) -> Flint Reverb -> Mesa Theile Cab -> Audix i5 mic

Crap. if only I had the tools to join in. Sigh.

Too kind! Was fun, and a good excuse to record even something small, which I should be doing more of.
