The good: absolutely looks the part. The important stuff looks to be very original, but I havent taken the pickup cover off or looked inside. Neck feels great and is reasonably straight. Sounds good acoustically, and wonderful plugged in. Controls all work.

The less good: has a replacement nut that looks like it's held in place with hope and prayers. Fretboard has been worn away in places and has chunks of wood arbitrarily glued in. It's a proper fretless wonder, even before taking into account fretwear. In the first few frets they're a Patrick Bateman situation: there's an idea of frets, but it's illusory, an abstraction, they're not really 'there'. There's a sliiiight bellying at around the 14th fret which is expected at this age. And whatever the fuck this is.

I guess the original Bakelite or whatever strap but broke and (to their credit) they’ve used an existing screw hole to put a modern one in. Should be easy enough to reverse all that and find a period correct looking one , do a bit of filling and drilling etc and it should look a little less like curious George

Another positive on these old guitars is that the F holes are actually correctly positioned.
