Unlike electrics and all their accessories, a fine acoustic is not a toy and it won't cover up all those dodgy bits and rough edges. You think playing in a trio leaves you exposed, try playing a tune (not a song) on an acoustic. There is nowhere to hide at all.

If you're lucky enough to have a Lowden, it will cheerfully share all your weaknesses and imperfections with everyone within earshot. It might even make them louder just for fun. But play well and even to yourself, you will sound sublime.
About 20% of the time I'm playing mine, it sounds sublime. Those moments are a gift because I know for sure I'm doing it right.

Ok, I'm off now before the rain of last year's pedals and obsolete digital fx units start hurtling down on me.

β€˜59 Les Paul
Dumble Overdrive Special
Vintage EHX Deluxe Memory Man

Gary Moore - Blues Alive
Full points for the album....

somehow I have amassed at least 10 and 2 bass rigs, a kemper as well as a veritable museum of digital pods and racks and 2 full range speakers in which to blast them through. I can piss way higher.

I just don't turn them on too often, as I like my neighbours and the missus, the 3hp dust extractor is enough.

2025 is the year of soundproofing :D just in case my fingers get well enough to play guitar at volume again :)

Hehehe. I think it was the picture of the guitar that brought a deeply suppressed image of a particularly despicably smug turn of the century beachy music phase come flooding back in a most unwelcome way.

Forgive me for the lack of punctuation. I had to get that sentence out before I retched.

Forgive me also, you slowy and Oleg, I can listen to you guys playing and singing for hours.

It’s just that mullet, moustache and bucket hat beach bum image that flashed up and ankle tapped an otherwise perfectly good day. (I know that’s not Ben Harper. I don’t need to remember the dude who I’m picturing)
