Hi there, I'm looking purchasing a Squier guitar (Stratosonic) from Fender but they don't deliver to New Zealand obviously, so I am looking at package forwarding services. I'm a bit concerned whether the packaging will be suitable for international shipping, and also that I could be under-estimating the shipping volume which would result in much higher than expected shipping charges.
I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on: -is the standard packaging from Squier likely to survive international postage? -Can anyone recommend a package forwarding service they have used? -Any good guesses at the shipping volume?

Your best bet is to find a third party seller who will ship it to New Zealand, Fender have pretty tight controls to protect their local importers so maybe try reverb.com or ebay?

It’s almost certainly not going to be worth it
I’m sure you’d be better off approaching one of our local retailers or seeing what’s available in Aus
Shipping has become very expensive

Thanks for the responses. I was particularly keen on this as it's heavily reduced (about $500 nzd), and a different colour (blue, which is exclusive to fender.com, and if I'm looking at guitars I don't need then looks come into it haha). Even if shipping was $700 (which i dont plan to pay, but for example), it would work out roughly the same as those options on reverb.
My main concern is then that I don't really know the package dimensions, and I can take an educated guess, but could wind up with a nasty surprise if I'm off by even fairly small margins.
Anyway, I'll almost definitely not do it, thanks again for your input
