NTD: Extreme Non-vintage Bling Content
It's a Soloking branded thing, I didn't know much about it TBH. Definitely an impulse purchase, just wanted something different. I haven't had a chance to give it a good audition yet. That'll be Tuesday evening, when I have the house to myself. Neck feels nice, even if I could to with a touch more girth further up the neck. Feels fantastic in cowboy chords territory.

Yup! I enjoy his stuff, I suspect that contributed to the impulse.

Man that looks.pretty. have wondered about that brand, so keen to hear how it plays out.
Yup, the Kotzen MIJ tele is the only tele I've found myself wanting so this looks awesome.

Just lovely! Also got the Kotzen vibes, ooh I do like a Tele with binding

Any self respecting Tele should look like a cross between a canoe paddle and a bait board.
Happy NGD Codedog!

Other than being a bit too much gold for me, it looks pretty good! Pity all their other teles have strat trems on them...
You might need one of these for it:
https://obsidianwire.co.nz/products/cus ... tele%C2%AE
Great for hs on a tele!

Thanks everyone for the comments.
Right... it's had frets polished and ends rounded, bumped up to my regular 10-46, action and intonation sorted. My initial impression on the neck still stands, but it's very nicely playable. The pickups... it's not what I expected. The neck pickup is nice and dynamic, albeit a tad dark. That bridge pickup is rather raunchy! I guess that was to be expected. I may fiddle about with pickup height first before considering anything else.

Re: NTD: Extreme Non-vintage Bling Content
Really? Pretty sure I saw teles without strat trems on their website a while back, just the regular 3 saddle ashtray bridges. I'm just waiting for the gold to wear out a bit over time, it's extremely shiny at the moment. Also, it came with stark white pickguard. That was the second biggest atrocity for me. Ended up cutting a new one from a bit of blank I had laying around because... here's the biggest atrocity... the pickguard is just different enough from standard tele ones to be frustrating! Anyway, there's creamy goodness in its place now.Candeevr4 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 7:53 am Other than being a bit too much gold for me, it looks pretty good! Re: ObsidianWire, I'm aiming to not spend too much (if any) money on this. Let's see how far I can take it first.
