Wobble wobble
Typically DADGDA tuning played in the key of G. Pentatonic scale with a 6th 'support' note. C and F always get vibrato, B and D# are bent a quartertone sharp. Improvise and build tension then resolve to the correct tones. Exact same approach to western jazz.

Re: NGD scallops
Do I see that right? Only a zero and 2nd fret? All the rest is just wood?
If so that would explain the tiny bridge as intonation is not realy that important anymore.

I feel uncomfortably out of my depth here...

Re: NGD scallops
It does indeed have all its frets. They are quite low, though.
The quality is strange because it is essentially a student guitar for Mekong delta farmers. The finish on the body, fretboard and neck is really nice but other bits are super shoddy. You only really go up the neck on the treble strings and they are tuned to DAD so the intonation isn't too bad with the straight saddle.
Will probably get a professional electric one when I visit next time.
here's a jam
