The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Post by GrantB »

Let's see them guys, along with any stories. Any Gibson Les Paul will do.

My kickstarter.

'02 Les Paul Custom '68 RI (Yamano) in aged Alpine white.
'99 Les Paul '59 RI R9.
'16 Les Paul '57 RI Aged (case aged also).

Pickups are either Throbaks or Mules.

I think we should just lock the thread now.

My 2007 R7. OX4 pickups.

I got it from Molly and I think it has been through a few forum hands before it got to him.

One of those knobs isn't original.

2002 Standard - this was an outstanding guitar, but I was overstocked. Gen 1 Burstbuckers are the sleeper IMO...only made for a short period of time before they changed. '02 standards should have them. '03 also, but not all.

Where did this one end up? It flits through my idle mind not infrequently.

Auckland. Man sent wife to pickup...she tried to haggle after he won the auction for X dollars. Threatened to leave if I didn't discount...which I invited her to do. Got there in the end, but 2 star rating.

Generous to give two. Hope it's loved, wherever it is.

I’m more concerned about the fact that someone has strung it with the same gauge string at every position.

2005 Classic, came with a headstock repair then required a full fretboard off and trussrod replacement, owes me way more than it’s worth so likely to stay for a long time. It’s not in the league of any of the CS stuff being posted but it’s everything I wanted in a Les Paul and I’m very pleased with it.
