NGD

Post by JoeBlow »

'68 Custom Reissue, 2022. Absolutely flawless condition, and plays and sounds like a dream. I was surprised at the neck profile, as it's a little slim (R0 I would say), but having just played it, I'm ecstatic with it, and it's a nice change from the fatter R8 and R4 necks I've had.

Got it from Coda Music, in Stevenage, UK. They set it up beautifully. Great service from those folks.

I bought my original block letter 5150 half stack from them. Probably from the same guy you got this from, can't remember his name but a really nice dude and was always there.

Spent hours upstairs messing around with all the R something and VOS Les Pauls they had in when I was last there in 2010 (I think, around then anyway).

Nice guitar too!
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

And the perfect amp to match!
Happy NGD.

Thanks Jim. It's not as interesting looking as a nice burst, but it ticked all my boxes.

Thanks DM. Yeah it's a cool little shop. I asked if they could drop the price a bit, and he knocked Β£200 off, which sweetened the deal for me.

Stevenage looks like a cool little village too?

Happy NGD.
It never disappoints me, Slowy. It's given me 8 years of joy. I bought Dharmajester's Friedman cab, so I'm hoping it sounds even better through that.

Sure does, Matt. The headroom just makes it a joy to play through, at any volume.

No, Les-bian is afterwards; when you've tried and decided it's not for you after all.

The part of Stevenage Coda is in is nice, good little rock pub (Red Lion) just up the main street from it too. But that is Old Town Stevenage, keep going past the Red Lion and you'll eventually find yourself in New Town Stevenage, which is an absolute shithole.

I lived in Old Town Stevenage for a bit, then moved to Hitchin, not too far away. Much nicer town and Machine Head Music was there, which was Coda's main competition.

What are you doing round those parts?

Oh right. I'm not over there, I just google earthed my way around there after I bought the guitar, curious to where it was, having never heard of that town. I stayed in Cirencester for a month while on holiday about 10 years ago now, at my brothers friends place. It seemed like every second car was an Aston Martin in that village.
