Apart from their size... could have done the dishes while the browser opened the files...
11mb files in a forum. Good times.

Fyi there's Snapseed if you're on phone to resize pics, and lightroom can export to size and file size if on desktop.

I am sure Reg knows that, my guess is that he couldn't be bothered resizing

Actually I didn’t even think to resize, I usually just cloud drop it over to my phone and it resizes it for me by default however I did it differently this time.

Ok so pots are obviously replacement, switch is seeming a bit dodgy too, with a player grade instrument like this I’m thinking it wouldn’t hurt resale if I replaced the wiring with something like an obsidian wiring harness?
The pickup Mrglyn can rewind for $85.
Pickguard I’m not sure about, I’d like a white instead of the metal black one. What’s the best option to get something that fits and looks period correct ish?
I tried my Vintage (brand) white Tele pickguard but the holes don’t line up. (Pic attached)

Fairly certain one of these will fit:

I've read positive reports about the quality and fit of their Jazzmaster guards, so I expect the Tele guards are the same. Cheap too.

Congratulations, what a great find! Seeing the '72' on the edge of the neck gave me a huge smile - authenticity confirmed!

Agreed you should treat it as a player's guitar, not a collector's guitar. Don't fret (doh) about changing the wiring and stuff... totally do it, maybe just keep the original stuff in a box for safe keeping.

I hope you get it into a really workable state and enjoy it. Updates please :)

Yeah, chuck in some new wiring- but you’re handy enough with a soldering iron to not need obsidianwire!

Thinking of banning anyone without fibre, don't sweat it...
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

wow, congrats! Nice find. Since the neck says 72, what makes this guitar a 73? Would it be the date it was assembled and shipped from the factory?

Well the neck plate serial dates it to 73 so guessing it’s more likely a 73.

What should I get the bridge pickup wound to?
The neck is 10k but sounds really mellow, even with 1
Meg pots it’s not the most bright sounding neck pickup I’ve heard. Im guessing if the neck is 10k the bridge would need to be at least that too, anyone have more accurate info on 70s Tele pickups?

Talk to Glynn, he’ll 100% have the answer.
