Engl Amp?
Hi all,
New to the forum and just wondering if anyone has any experience with Engl Amps? I see Musicplanet are selling new stock of them. Got my eye on the Ironball se since you can record direct your interface without a two notes reactive load.
Cheers!

Re: Engl Amp?
The Engl I have used do everything from sexy clean to high gain. The inbetweeners are all magnificent too.

Heathen's album, Control by Chaos, was recorded using the Engl Savage and that's a massive guitar tone. Good amps, but a pain to work on if the amp techs on YouTube are to be believed.

Re: Engl Amp?
One of the best hard rock tones I got was from an Engl combo at Musicworks. Can't remember the model but it was killer. The Engl models on my Axe Fx are all awesome too if that counts for anything.
Loving it so far

I'm confused, did Feldman play a Friedman or an Engl?

I wonder if that was the Engl Metal Master. Seems to be quite a well known combo. Yeah I really like the "Angl Meteor" model on the Helix software side of things and have really wanted to try a Fireball since then. The Ironball SE sounds tight like a Mark series amp but looks like with all its features, is trying to win over people from modeling back to tube amps.

Re: Engl Amp?
Long time Engl user here. Love every single Engl amps and they are really well priced at Music Planet. Cheap to expensive model, they all have that tasty Engl character. Epic metal machine, every single one of them.
Buy Engl if you are searching for aggressive/tight/focused/harmonic rich/percussive high gain tone.
Don’t buy Engl if you are a boost pedal fan. It’s so tight and you won’t find boost pedal much useful at all.

My savage120 smokes my entire high gain collection easily, it’s instant Necrophagist. That’s one amp I will keep forever.Mikeincarnate326 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 7:54 pmWould LOVE a savage!
