Over the last year I've bought a few bits and pieces from some of the local pawn shops. I've mostly bought to sell on and make a little money but I also bought some stuff to tide me over until my gear arrived from New Zealand. I've never found any higher end stuff worth buying. It's usually quite overpriced but there are some bargains to be had at the lower end of the price range.
I thought I'd share some photos with ya'll!
1) 2010 Epiphone Tom Delonge es-333 $240
I bought this with the intention to sell on (they go for $1000+ on Reverb!) but it's such a fun guitar I decided to keep it! Big fat neck, Gibson Dirty Finger pick up, RAWK machine!
2) 1987 Kramer Aero Star $70.
Not normally my cup of tea for a guitar but a fun one to play. Couldn't pass up at the price. Sold this one on.
3) Japanese Fender Strat $140
Bought this one to sell on. Was very cheap and made a nice profit. Great playing guitar though, had grover tuners, big block trem etc.
Cheap American pawn shop prizes.

4) Korean Squire Strat $130
5) 2000 something Epiphone Dot Studio $250. Came with a case. I may move this on or keep it and mod it. Lot of guitar for very little money.
That's about it so far. It's always fun looking out for little treasures!
I needed a humbucker guitar for a band I'm in and I found this one. It already had a Seymour Duncan Pearly gates in the bridge, SD lil' 59 in the middle and a SD hotrails in the neck position with full SD wiring harness. It also has locking tuners! I added a big block to the trem and a new nut. I'll probably keep this, it's a great, cheap strat. 5) 2000 something Epiphone Dot Studio $250. Came with a case. Awesome, they look like great deals.
I'm heading to the US later in the year, I'll see if I can convince the family that visiting pawn shops is a good way to spend our holiday

You're quite the pawn star Matt!

Whenever I say the word 'pawn' here people think I'm saying 'porn'. I've gained a lot of new friends.

I like that Strat. You got your money back just on the pickups I think.
