I've bought from here for car paint (PPG Deltron) before, been a while. Thought I'd check for PPG Speedlac and there it is.

You'd have to follow up with colour tint detail code whatever.

Yes he is - the product is PPG Speedlac 262 nitrocellulose lacquer (thanks Rob for naming it). But it caused me to briefly stare into the rabbit hole of old verses modern nitro and I'm staying clear of that one...
I haven't sprayed it with enough skill to speak authoritatively. But my experience is that is feel a lot more like old nitro than what Gibson are spraying on their non-Custom Shop instruments. It's super soft and wears very quickly. Doesn't have the plasticky feel. I haven't had it crack with temperature changes yet (not that I've tried deliberately) but I suspect that's to do with my poor technique.
Where did you end up buying it from? My google skills are letting me down to try and find a supplier....
WPC group. Auckland and Whangarei only I think. They might deliver if you want me to give you a contact.

Otherwise ask PPG themselves.

Progress... the vintage blonde nitro lacquer finish has been curing and 1500-3000 grit sanding has been done. 4 coats of clear now on. Sanding 5000, then 8000 and then polish till around 12000.

No, I'm just an observer of the build like you guys. Andries Vorster is building it for me.

A little bit of fretboard oil will darken that ebony up!
Pic isn't the best - for reference the pickguard is bone (parchment).

I like it.

Wasn't there an aftershave from the 70s named Andronis? If there wasn't there should have been.

Does the e strings being so close to the edge cause issues?

I'm yet to see/play the guitar. But I've asked that question...

We're looking at it from a slight angle, aren't we? Camera is a little to the bass string side, so it makes the high strings appear to sit lower.

Yeah, but not that much I thought, the shadow is saying something too.

I'm dubious but benefit of the doubt it's a camera angle issue and it's all 100% fine.
