Quality time with the 1964 Jaguar

Post by StrummersOfThunder »

FINALLY got round to returning the jag to stock (except for mastery bridge of course) , giving it a good clean up and setting up with 12s.

Cant recall why i ever changed anything out as its sounding superb. The OG 64 pickups test at 6.5 and 6.55 kohm and sound percussive and lively.

Neck is a beast and the truss is working perfectly. Action set low and slick with 12-54s

You can tell its an old refin from the butchering of the bridge thimble surrounding wood. Who knows when.
But the refin has checked in such a lovely way.

Thought Id share a bit of the guitar porn with you all :)

I know what you mean. My Jazz shrunk so much it couldn’t fit over the pup covers.

This is a cool guitar.

Whilst it's not a vintage example, I may have your Jaguar's bass cousin

If anyone suggests an EP booster I have a Mosky clone of one for cheaps! It sounds killer but I have no space on my board for it any more :-(

I really like what the preamp part of my Catalinbread Belle Epoch does. Hard to quantify, but it’s a clean boost sort of thing, so I expect the EP boost is like that but more. Or possibly a DOD?
