I found that since I'm picking very close to the bridge, my pick and hand were hitting the pickup and volume knob a lot.
When I was removing the bridge pickup, I discovered that everything fit nicely into the cavity. So I just taped up the switch and tone pot so they wouldn't move and stuffed it all in there with some foam to keep it from moving. I am proud to say that the manouchemaster mod is fully reversable, no soldering required.

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.
