Most branded goods come from China though, I have bought plenty of genuine stuff off AliExpress, have to be pretty cautious though!
Anyone bought strings off Ali Express?

Yep, I have bought a few things of Ali that are genuine. Often they are sold by US companies but the manufacturing is in China, so they use Ali as just another sales avenue, a direct from factory sort of thing.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Sorry, I decided not to put them on and have returned them. Rather have the original, coated ones on the guitar.robthemac wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 7:18 pmDo you think the fakes were any worse than the originals, though? Leaving aside risk, morality etc.Jay wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 6:56 pmI take back what I said... I watched the video below and compared two sets, one bought in NZ and from AliExpress. The latter are absolute fakes. Very hard to tell when looking casually but there it is...Miza wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 1:53 pm Meh, I'm still not convinced the packs I got were fake (if they are, it's exceptionally good fake packaging).
But I won't be making a habit of buying strings that way. For the few bucks you save, how long you wait and the risk they never show up (happens a lot with AE) is not worth it.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Do you have the link for the seller?

The ones I use aren't $30 but they used to cost more locally and using an AliExpress official store is hardly a hassle.

Re: Anyone bought strings off Ali Express?
with how long they take to arrive plus the 15% GST applied at checkout, they are really not worth it imo
