I have always been a big fan of amp modelling, but what about pickup and guitar modelling?
I managed to try such a pedal once, called the Keyztone Xchanger. This one is a pickup modeller. I regret selling it now, but I needed the cash at the time. I thought it was pretty fun, but obviously not quite as good as just having another axe.
Eventually I discovered the Sim1 XT1. Now there's a pedal I want. I'd love to get my hands on one but it is a bit expensive. I do like the idea of being able to switch guitar personalities at your feet. Saying that, I get that a lot of these tones are achievable via tweaking at EQ.
Anyone tried the Sim1? Thoughts?

I guess I will have to take one for the team and find out!
Just need to borrow a Variax or a midi guitar to complete the trifecta.

If the XT1 can achieve a few good tones I think it'll be worth it. It does also have midi switching capabilities and some basic amp modelling. I like to have an easily accessible backup so I think this could be enticing.

Latency would be what I would be concerned about, I reckon the variax would be a better shot...

Reviews so far say no latency. Will be interesting.
