That middle position is something I missed a lot in my hiatus from 2V 2T setups. Are those settings the fabled 'woman tone'?

Indeed it is a variant of the woman tone, I prefer it to the standard neck pickup only with tone down :-) Crank the hotcake or KOT and its glorious!

Just got this lovely old girl back from Ramsay.

As far as I can tell, she's a ~1959-1960 456.

Neck was lifting, as is common. A few people told me not to bother fixing. F&#k them - she's beautiful now - plays great and the old wood's spanks and rings like a bell.....

That's indeed a lovely old guitar. Do you worry about the tuners crumbling?
