Am using lockdown to import a bunch of historical photos, and came across these…..
Acquired in 2007 from USA. Victim of Hurricane Katrina (from memory). My question of “is the neck stable” went un-answered….as it turns out, that was the least of this poor bugger's problems......

Finish was literally jumping off the guitar, so decided to brush off whatever wasn't sticking - I think I used a paint brush.....
Veneer had to go as well.

Great post, always good to see the guts of so called superb craftmanship...
Interesting to see how small the neck pocket is!
And also, this clearly shows that maple does shrink when the conditions are right
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
