Love Song to the Guitar

On RNZ this morning.

Takeaway facts:
2.5 million new guitars annually.
Fastest growing market is acoustics to females.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

It was a really interesting segment generally, I enjoyed it.

The guy they were interviewing, Chris Gibson (unrelated to the Guitar maker) was plugging his book "the Guitar". He said it started with a visit to the Cole Clark factory and then tried to trace both the history of the guitar, and the individual woods and components involved in the manufacturing. I might try and drop subtle hints to the missus to get me a copy.
