When Bernie Marsden played his PRS he sounded just like Bernie Marsden. Take a chunk of mahogany and some humbuckers, throw in a judicious pinch of EQ and you can sound like any other chunk of mahogany with humbuckers.

But...

which one is more comfortable to play?
which one stays in tune ?
which one can you buy without playing and know it will play, sound and sustain without issue 99.9% of the time?
which one will keep its headstock when you turn in your bedroom and smack it against your 4x12 ?

Peter Framton, Roy Buchanan and Howard Leese were early adopters of PRS.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

While I don't have a PRS, my ASH Aurum has been mistaken for one more than once, and it sits in a similar space - an updated take on a LP. Its more comfortable to play than my LP, much lighter I can play it all night without my back hurting, and it stays in tune much better than the LP.

The LP still gets plenty of gigs though. Sure I'm cursing it when my back is aching, and when I have to tweak the G tuning every couple of songs, but its worth it for the feel and sound of the thing.

Having said all that I'd still like to own an R7, its part of history right ?

My 2018 BMW R1200GS is better in every single way than my 1974 R60/6 but I still love the R60 :winky:

It’s a proven factoid that no-one ever got laid playing a PRS.
Not meaning to be argumentative, but that is patently incorrect
