Thinking about a future buy once funds have accumulated. Can you tell me which you fellas would choose and why to help me decide.

Just think to yourself “What would John Mayer do?”

I’ve tried a 00028EC and really liked it. The smaller 00 appeals also. I know there are a ton of guitars out there. I remember trying a little Tacoma that was a great little guitar. I like the way the Martin projects.

Depends... is this going to be your only acoustic? What other acoustics would it fit around? What is your use-case (gigging? rock? folk? something else? at home?)
There is a definite difference in projection & bass response between the two body sizes.
I really like the clarity that the smaller bodies provide. And in my experience they work better with a band...but it is definitely horses for courses.

Yes excellent to gather view points. As this is a horses for courses. I have had a D28 for 21yrs now. Before that a Gibson dove. The smaller bodied guitar has something going on which I like.olegmcnoleg wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:23 am Depends... is this going to be your only acoustic? What other acoustics would it fit around? If you're looking at those I assume you're a fingerpicker?
Are you physically a dimunitive gentleman, is comfort part of the equation?
After a lifetime of dreadnaughts, I now have a 000 equivalent which is a revelation in terms of clarity and balance (pardon the pun).
Ultimately though, guitars are like women. On paper there's not much difference but only a few can make you happy.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I like fingerpicking although my nails haven’t much to do with it being paper thin. The smaller bodied guitars feel more comfy to me but not a driving factor. I understand the revelation as it opens up another side of playing I guess. Puns are now called dad jokes.Slowy wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:42 am If you're looking at those I assume you're a fingerpicker?

Wise, you have become.

Superglue... but don't try applying it when you are drunk. My nails take a hammering...it is the best solution I've found. Slowy uses araldite, but then he is a builder so what can you expect?
If you want to call round and try a few different sized acoustics, just PM me.

I remember a former guitar teacher who played flamenco had weak nails and tried different products. He once had his nails disintegrate completely. Trial and error.
