I find the smell of fresh nitro to be more appealing than 60 years of stale beer and cigarette smoke.

Re: Murphy Lab LPs
It's interesting to note that the price difference between the Ultra Light Aged and Ultra Heavy Aged Murphy Labs is US$3,500. That would seem to pay for an awful lot of man hours of ageing.

Wasn’t there an Ace Freeley and R4 Oxblood amongst them?Molly wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:30 pmI recall seeing some of that. All top-end gear.goldtop0 wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:22 pm
There's a chap here in Auckland who over the years has imported a ton of exotic Strats, LPs, Amps and other gooey brands of same from the USA(Trussarts etc) for his own pleasure/use. About 2 years ago he sold some his collection to the Akld Rockshop some of which is still on the walls.

I played the Freeley and it didn't do anyway me. Don't recall the Oxblood. There was an R7 I think that was just lovely.MrDINO wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 11:17 amWasn’t there an Ace Freeley and R4 Oxblood amongst them?Molly wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 5:30 pmI recall seeing some of that. I dunno, I've done a lot of man hours of aging and nobody's paid me a cent.

Nashville is a four hour drive from where I am. Tennessee is doing it good right now. They've ignored the current world mindset and are prospering for it.If we sold our Christchurch dumphole and bought a place there twice as big with the leftover money, we'd be mortgage free and have a nice chunk of change. Yes, we're thinking about it!goldtop0 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 11:10 amsizzlingbadger wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:39 am I guess someone has to pay for the new Gibson Garage

Yeah bro, it's unreal here. For what it's worth too, as far as our image of how good we have it in NZ, the gov here gives us $150 US a week for groceries (it was more under the T man, but what do you do?) and as it stands in our current situation, our health care is free.Molly wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 11:59 amChrist, really! We're very seriously thinking of making this permanent.

$150 a week for groceries? Do you mean $20 a week for groceries and $130 for GAS?kdawg2a wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 12:11 pmYeah bro, it's unreal here. Re: Murphy Lab LPs
Gas here is $3 US a gallon which works out to $1:13 a litre NZ. Everything is close by so, no, travel is very cheap. Unless you meant real GAS which I can't afford because I have no income!robthemac wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 12:14 pm$150 a week for groceries?
