Tonerite

Post by Conway »

Anyone tried one of these things?

Image

Vibrates the top of the guitar to loosen it up. Borrowed this from a customer of mine who swears by it. I'm about 90 hours in. Tomorrow might be test day.

If it works, I might try my PRS Hollowbody II next. (22 frets. Sounds nothing like a Strat. :moresarc: )

Ah, there she is...

I'd be interested to try that device. Though I'd be taking the guitar out of its case before using it so it all gets a good shakeup :-)

I asked the guy about that. He uses it with guitar in the case. You can feel the vibration right up on the headstock, so I think it's getting a fair shakeup.

I have a similar device from a different manufacturer. Mine has two speakers which do the vibrating but care is required as they can scratch the surface of the guitar unless carefully applied. I like to put one on the headstock and the other on the body. Great way to play a guitar in, acoustic or electric works just as well..

Often wondered what they were like. A report back would be great.

What if this is actually using up all the vibration the top has?

Could you not just Sellotape a Rampant Rabbit to the guitar?

I think GB has a point here... you could be introducing wood fatigue prematurely...

Hmmm, that's a worry. I suppose you should just throw away any guitar older than 20 or 30 years then???

Just a minute, I'll have to Google how to use one of those.

I got one new from Malcolm back in the day (and a Sky King too actually). Then another Imperial from Troy. Spiffing amps.

I'm in that 'fed-up - buy a new bike / guitar / amp' mood.
