I heard a difference with the second guitar sounding a bit brighter. I have never played a 335 but assumed a hollow body would sound brighter and for that reason alone got it right - lucky guess I suppose.

Surely there is more to a guitar than what it sounds like? Its what it feels and plays like too.

Now that's a useful comparison, like with like. Any chance of a YT demo?

Might do that in a few months time........I've got a M2M 335 coming from the US hopefully in the next 6 weeks or so and there'll be an analytical comparison to my other gibbys going on.....a 'bucketlust' exercise that one.

Nice, where did you make your order and how prohibitive was the cost ?

I went through Music Zoo because they work with a guy I know from the LPF who has had his 'fat' necked M2M gibbys done through them over the last few years.
Don't ask me why(cos I don't know and never asked for it) but I got a real good deal from MZ which I didn't expect as I hadn't had any previous dealings with them. The price they gave me was too good to pass up at just over the stated retail of US$5299 for the 2021 335s.
The specs I wanted were a, Fat unbound '58 neck (1" at the 1st fret), a VOS red burgundy sunburst finish and lightweight at 8lbs or thereabouts plus Custombucker pups...... so hopefully that's what will turn up in the near future.

Put a little bit of binding on that neck and I think we would have the same dream Gibson.

First act of this lockdown has been to put some new strings on my 335, and give it a bit of a polish.

If I have some time I might try recording a bit of LP vs 335, and then see if I’m brave enough to put my playing up to be judged.
