NGD: Artist TC59

Post by The Scarecrow »

Picked up one these Telecaster models on the weekend, and to be honest, I'm kind of blown away by how good this thing is. Was not expecting the range of sounds , nor playability on a guitar under $300. Easily smashes all every other tele in this range, might even go as far as to say it's better than a mex Fender or two I've played.

Pickups that actually split well and sound good on either mode. Big resonant sound, which I wager is from the massively heavy ash body (very unexpected on a guitar this price) which is only very mild gripe (weighs a lot). Good neck profile and decent frets. Intonation bang on.

I briefly had an artist 7 string that I got as part of a trade, which was average at best, but this is a significant step up. Well recommended and the reviews online, including from this guy whom I generally respect the opinion of, are all very positive.

I reckon with a good setup, they'll piss all over the Capo models...

I've heard they're sold out on these often because they rate so well. I was lucky and found this on FB Marketplace going for a steal.

yeah, they just don't ship them over to NZ very often, Aus had restocks and new models back in Nov. Same models are expected here in May, but I watched estimations like that get pushed back 5 months or so. Seems they use the same factory as harley benton, haze and slick - think I've found it on Aliexpress

i really want their new thinline tele
