It was a niche buy that appealed to my sense of novelty, but I'm keen to move it on for something better. I'm also hoping the novelty value appeals to someone else and I can get an ok price for it, but I'm not holding my breath.Cdog wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 5:47 pmHah! Re: Guitar recommendations for learner
I have a cheapie Cort LP-style guitar (Z40) that I need to put the pickups back in and sell. I think it's be a good guitar for a smaller person/child as the neck is not big. and it has a satin finish on the back of the neck which makes it nice to play. It might be an idea to try some out for that neck size thing, could make a difference between playing fun and playing pain. Being adults we may not realise a younger/smaller person's physical struggle.

Good call to try some out. She likes my singlecut but they're not as comfy sitting with as a strat, and I reckon she'll do most of her playing seated.WellyBlues wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 8:42 pm I have a cheapie Cort LP-style guitar (Z40) that I need to put the pickups back in and sell. agree, they don't come up 2nd=hand much though as people tend to keep them.StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:29 am I always thought the yamaha pacifica guitars were great for the money
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Thanks all for the replies. We made a trip to the Rockshop, and she fell in love with a Kramer. Mission accomplished

She's too shy for actual pics, but this is the guitar. Lightweight, needs intonation, but otherwise it's been well set-up and the neck is real comfy. Not bad for $250. Whatever inspires her.
