Shops running out of strings

Post by quyet »

Any tips on good places to buy online in bulk?

Mainly use elixir 12s or ddarrio chrome flats and keep a stock of unwound strings cuz I sweat acid. Went to replenish and it was slim pickings.

Elixir is back in stock at NZ supplier, so they're available again. Just about every brand we stock is out of 10's electrics (except Elixir now). Ernie Ball has major issues because some shipment got lost on the water somewhere apparently. I currently can't get EB, Dunlop or Darco in 10-46.

I have 3 pack of EB 9's and a 3 pack of D'Addario 10's if anyone is really short of strings.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

I know I'm historically very vocal about parallel importing but here I go. Hypocrisy incarnate.

I've always had amazing service and pricing from these guys in the states. https://www.stringsandbeyond.com

I usually buy a years supply in one go. A triple pack of D'Addario is about the same cost as a single pack retail.

There! My dirty secret is out.

I bought a ten pack of D'Addario electric strings from the Rockshop earlier this year for $80. I think that's cheap enough.

Since I moved most guitars over to coated, I rarely buy strings. I hardly play the fuckers so its not like I'm going to wear them out...

And bass strings, meh, they last forever, even after a boil wash or two.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
