NEBMMD
New Ernie Ball Music Man(Men?) Day!
I really liked my Sterling AX40 so had been on the hunt for an Axis now I've ended up with two of them:
A standard Axis model, and a hardtail Axis Super Sport. I'm really liking both of them so far. I swapped in some stainless bolts on the floyd and locking nut on the Axis. I might see if I can change the wiring up on the Super Sport to try get a bit more variety from the different positions to help justify having two very similar guitars.
I worked on a VH1 style tone last night for the Helix.

One can't wobble, the other canLyle wrote:justify having two very similar guitars
One can't easily tune down to C# the other can.
One is solid colour, the other has grain.
One has no tone control, the other does.
One has custom wound, one has... is that a super distortion?
Same shape, different guitars. Totally justified.

The bridge in the super sport is a FRED. Your reasoning seems solid, I'll see if my wife agrees...JHorner wrote:

That Axis Super Sport is very nice !
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

This set up is mint, you've got basically all your bases covered. Nice!

Your mistake here was getting 2 different colours, and having them out at the same time.Lyle wrote:Your reasoning seems solid, I'll see if my wife agrees...
Settle on one colour and you’ll be sweet. “Oh you’re playing your red guitar again?”

Re: NEBMMD
very cool. Axises (or Axii?) are seriously awesome guitars. Very comfortable, compact small body.
