I think Warmoth do conversion necks? Normally you would have to move the bridge for it to intonate I can't imagine that would be an easy job if it's a strat body

I saw Chris Armour in Wellington doing a blues gig with a Baritone Tele, bloody brilliant. I think he did some slide on it as well.

Talented chap he is to. We are blessed in Welly.

Was that the natural looking one? If so it was a W.D Music Tele baritone conversion neck on a Swamp Kauri body. Heavy!

its usually only gibsons that run out of travel, theres no prob intonating a 25.5" guitar in B or A.

Yeah, such a good sound. Complimented him on it afterwards. B or Bb tuning? not sure. Was perfect for the blues he was doing.

I have a 27" scale tele neck for a project im about to start building. The one i have needs the bridge moved back a 1/2" due to it being made slightly wrong. I think a lot of the other (allparts/wd/warmouth) all should be good, just they all seem to be different scales.

Damn i was just looking at baritones, a partscaster would be perfect. I have a Telecaster body with no bridge stuff drilled too
Where did you get that 27" neck from??

Pitbull Guitars in aus. Was about $100 for a Maple tele one.

true,id only heard bad things about pitbull. So the body that was made wrong was from them too? be nice if there was something between warmouth and PB price wise.

No the scaling on the neck is 1/2" out. The fix is to move the bridge back that amount. There are WD and Allparts options which are cheaper than Warmouth, but you are still looking $350+(NZD) for one.

I thought that the whole point of the conversion necks was that you didn't need to move the bridge - otherwise whats the point? I assume that they alter the length of the heel or something to push out the nut/12th fret measurement?

In most cases this is correct, however Pitbull got the measurements wrong on their conversion necks and only realised after they had stock and went on sale. They arent on their site, but you can ask for them.

I chucked it on my tele this afternoon, heres the stock neck:

vs the pitbull neck:

And the whole neck against the ruler:
