What type of acoustic are you using 10s on, oleg? What sort of playing?

Light on acoustic. They're never as easy to play as an electric so I need all the help I can get.

Oleg sold me a Walden that arrived with some magical brand of strings. It sounded wonderful then I fitted phosphor bronze and it didn't sound half as good; really toppy and tinny. I never got around to asking him what he had on there. Point being, I suppose, that good acoustic strings are important.

It is a little mando-guitar (Tacoma Papoose). Mostly I strum it, or play folky stuff on it.

Yeah, can't help you there, I've no idea what it had on it. Elixirs probably, and now I think of it, probably 80/20 bronze strings, and probably 12s.

I probably exaggerated the difference but it was definitely evident that the strings you fitted sounded warmer and all the words Bg doesn't like to see in reviews (girth and mouth-feel etc.). I play it so infrequently I've not really worried about it. Nice acoustics are wasted on me...

I use 11s and 12s.
Used to be 13s all the way but I'm now old and don't have a Martin Cannon anymore.

Is that one of the blokes from JB's special interest videos?

Both JB and I are in solidarity on this. It depends on the context.

And guitar buzzword bingo means nothing to me as I don't read TGP. I prefer words that actually mean something... like "it sounds phat as"
