NGD: Epiphone LP Special 2020
It's finally here! Arrived early this morning, in between rainy periods thankfully. A bit odd since they took my photo with the parcel, in lieu of signature. Just snuck out to take some photos at lunchtime and realised it's a bit grubby and dusty. Action is a smidge high. Was a bit dubious about that bridge but intonation was fantastic! Will change strings and potentially lower the action after work...
I can just see a bit of grain under that finish, but impossible to photograph. It doesn't look that yellow in real life, definitely more of an olive tinge to it.

I'm keen on these too.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Neck feels nice too. Not huge, but a comfy handful. Really nicely built. There was an unconfirmed rumour this was one of the last two in the country prior to Level 3 downgrade.sizzlingbadger wrote:I'm keen on these too.

Looks awesome, but pull that plastic off the pickups first next time

Re: NGD: Epiphone LP Special 2020
It came only in the Epi cardboard box. Zero extra padding other than that cheesecloth thing. Worried the heck out of me, but it arrived in undamaged. Absolutely no smell at all!
I see Rockshop has a Gator LP case though... brown outside... pink inside...

That's what I was going to say. You sometimes don't even see rosewood this nice on a Gibson. Good score.Starfire wrote:Looks great. Looks like you got a nice fingerboard—not grey like all the promo shots.
Congrats.

Laurel fingerboards on these ones, I believe.Molly wrote:That's what I was going to say. You sometimes don't even see rosewood this nice on a Gibson. Good score.Starfire wrote:Looks great. Looks like you got a nice fingerboard—not grey like all the promo shots.
Congrats.
Actually, I think it was Squier whose recent promo shots had guitars with grey fingerboards. I spent a bit of time looking at the CV Jazzmasters.
