NCGD: The Strat
Hi all,
Just thought I'd share this new guitar custom guitar I recently finished here in Japan with the help of Kerry Truscott all the way from New Zealand. Kerry is awesome! I was getting tired of searching for the right one so I decided to make one to my spec. Was hard to decide the colours too as I didnt want anything too flashy. It was a pain in the ass to paint but i got there in the end.
Body:
Sapele, Ash Top with Cream Binding.
Paint: Polyurethane/ Stain
Side Jack
Neck:
Custom Wenge Neck with Pau Ferro top
Stainless steel frets (Same size as the Fender American guitar)
Custom Graphtec Nut
Radius: 10"-14"
Hardware:
Wilkinson VS100 Bridge (My Favourite)
Schaller lock
Custom Black Knobs
Gotoh Nickel Relic tuners (Not so relic)
ESP Tone Springs
Engraved Japanese neck plate
Electronics
Superswitcher
Cloth wire
RetroSpec Pots (500k A & B)
Japanese Made Mini Switch
Capacitor: Ovaltone
Custom Pickguard
Pickups
Bridge: Seymour Duncan TB-16
Middle: Seymour Duncan Duckbucker
Neck: Seymour Duncan Red Devil
I also repainted my previous guitar in someone elses room: (Shh)

Re: NCGD: The Strat
That looks awesome Thomas..I like the idea of Sapele/Ash (I think the first guitar I ever built may have been that combo...but was so long ago I can't remember for sure. I know the top was Ash but not sure of the bottom, might have to sand it down to check
