Best colour for a strat with a rosewood fretboard?
I'm thinking of painting my Jap strat this summer with spray cans - It currently has a natural finish (alder body and rosewood fingerboard with a brown-ish pickguard).
What do you think is the best colour combination (body colour as well as pickguard/pickups/knobs etc) for a rosewood fretboard strat?
At the moment I am leaning towards either an aged white (the original colour) with a mint green pickguard, or possibly shell pink with the same. Sonic blue maybe? Definitely thinking of the vintage look for this one so I plan on aging the fretboard markers to be more amber looking.
On that note, if anyone has a subtle mint green pickguard like the one in the picture below, please let me know!

The faded Shell Pink in your first pic looks great.

You know what? Classic black on a strat has been looked over for a long time. The 50's ones are a bit of a give in but 60's, rosewood board, laminate pickguard, white undercoat peaking out of a subtley reliced finish, classy as.

Agree so long as the rosewood is dark. :thunbup:kdawg2a wrote:You know what? Classic black on a strat has been looked over for a long time. The 50's ones are a bit of a give in but 60's, rosewood board, laminate pickguard, white undercoat peaking out of a subtley reliced finish, classy as.

I'm a big fan of Fiesta Red that's been faded and reliced. Tres sexy.

Olympic white gets my vote. Can not remember seeing anything in that colour that looked bad.
Shell pink looks dynamite if done right. If not it just looks bad IMO
