The 'traders to avoid' thread
Every now and then we have a bad experience while buying and selling. It's inevitable, but it's usually not on this forum. Perhaps this could be a thread where we can keep each other informed as to who to avoid on these other sites.
Make sure you've thought it through if you're going to post something, as the person you're talking about might very well be on here.
Here's a few guidelines I can think of, though more may be added:
- Try to sort it out yourself first and give the other party some time to respond.
- Stick to the facts.
- Provide reasons rather than just saying it was a bad trade. Keep evidence if you can rather than hearsay.
- No shit talking.
- Consider both sides of the story.
- Edit the post / let us know when it's been settled so that names can be cleared.
- Take it to small claims if you can't sort it out.
Remember that there is another thread here for posting your good experiences: http://www.nzguitars.com/forum/viewtopi ... =3&t=36221

Re: The 'traders to avoid' thread
I'll start:
If you buy gear off Facebook, here are two people to avoid.
1. "Chey Milla"
A friend of mine made a post requesting a bass chorus pedal. A person called "Chey Milla" responded offering that pedal to him. Money was sent, then "Chey Milla" never responded. This has been reported to the Police.
2. Cody Lee Kivell. I bought some pickups off him and they arrived broken because he screwed them together and used bugger all packaging.
All I asked him to do was to ring NZPost and see if it could be investigated (because only the sender can start a claim). He didn't reply until a month later - too late to do a claim then. He was chatty prior to there being and issue, and the feeling I got was that he couldn't be bothered helping when it went wrong.
His words:
"hey man. sorry bro ive been way to busy theres nothing i can do youll have to try claim it yourself. its a shitty situation but unfortunately its yours to deal with ive sent you the details for nz post youll need to take it up with them"
Anyway, I wasn't going to get anywhere with him so I just dropped it. Not sure if I'm allowed to post his profile or not so here's a pic of the pickups:

If you want, but this thread is intended for the douches we don't already know about.null_pointer wrote:That null_pointer on TM is a douche.

Re: The 'traders to avoid' thread
Crieger. My first negative trade. Sold me a partscaster. Listing stated: "Neck says Fender (which it is)". Transpired the neck was a cheap Chinese copy onto which he'd applied a home-made decal. Actually found the purchase of the transfer paper in his recent feedback. He was a total prick about it. Admitted it wasn't an actual Fender neck but said it was a Fender design - some such excuse - and what did I expect at the price?? Got a red face for my trouble which TradeMe removed once they had the correspondence.
I gave him a red face but some months later in a moment of mellow hippy-dippy anti-negativity I removed it. Still wouldn't deal with the guy again..

The word is “hearsay” as in “I know it’s true because I heard someone say it”. Heresy is something quite different. And heresay isn’t a wordZaulkin wrote:Every now and then we have a bad experience while buying and selling. It's inevitable, but it's usually not on this forum. Yeah but the point is so people who don't know the story can weigh things up before doing a deal.Olderama wrote: I don't need to go into the details the mods know what happened
