Checked their website and it shows a smiling cowboy with a guitar slung around his neck. That is a good start!
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

I ain't a whiskey man. Tried Grant's Whiskey in the past, no excitement. Then I noticed an unopened bottle of Jim Bean Whiskey over the lockdown that was given to me a long time ago. Finished it and again no excitement. Then I bought a Tullamore DEW last month and it gives a hint of promise of what a whiskey might be all about. Any suggestions what I should try next without having to exhaust my savings?

ps - I like Chris Stapleton's Tennessee Whiskey. Is that something to try?
I think Jameson's is the most accessible affordable whisky. Or if you're wanting something Scotch, Glenlivet 12 is inoffensive and boring. Glenmorangie Original is much nicer IMHO, but a little more flavoursome so can be a bit much for some.

This is my all time favourite thread title.
Just saying
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

You should define what you mean by excitement. A Laphroiag 10yr old is exciting, but could just taste like iodine drunk from a full ashtray to you. A good rye like Rittenhouse has that nice spicy note from the rye grain and the underlying sweetness from the corn, but might be a bit rough around the edges for you. Bourbons need a bit of money spent on them to get away from the bourbon burn. I'd also stay away from most of the Irish bottles, their fondness for triple distillation can make them a bit lacking in character.

I'd say just grab a bottle of Teachers, it's got a bit of peat smoke, it's not a great whisky by any standard, but it's a good introduction to something with a bit more character than you've tried so far.

Or just splash out on a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail, which is my favourite, but not in the Grant's/Teachers/Jim Beam price range.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.
