Binding bleed like you shouldn't see on a premium instrument. Nice burst and intriguing piece of mahogony on the back, though.

The finish bleed into the binding is a Gibson hallmark, they can fix it easily, but it's become an established part of the vibe for better or worse. Interestingly (perhaps) my Heritage doesn't do it, despite being more Gibson than a Gibson these days.

Apparently, exposure to UV reduces it.robthemac wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 10:44 am https://intl.ishibashi.co.jp/products/10-2800003017399

I've been watching loads of these 8Bomb videos on refinishing CS Les Pauls. He's pretty critical of the lacquer they use.

Yeah, but I can't find anyone to ship that lacquer to NZ. Trying a few techniques to get some finish checking with our local option, but slow going so far.Molly wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 11:12 amApparently, exposure to UV reduces it.robthemac wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 10:44 am https://intl.ishibashi.co.jp/products/10-2800003017399

Having access to 60+ year old nitro really shows the gulf between natural aging and relic though.

That’s a terrible looking Gibson.
