A dude on FB bought and imported a R8 from CME paid about $10k to get it imported and arrived today by aramex/UPS with the headstock snapped

yeah one of the down sides to offshore buying but then it is probably something that you could not get here. He got it through a very well known store (chicago music exchange) so hopefully they come through for him

Yeah, unless it's insured specifically for more Aramex is only liable for a maximum of two grand as per NZ law.

they have already said as much when he contacted them. CME said on their website INSURANCE: Your package(s) is fully insured if found to be lost in transit, damaged, or defective upon receipt. A replacement or full refund will be provided. Hope this turns out to be the case for him
