Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
Might be a model without F holes....
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
It's an ES-333. They all had the hatch on the back. If you've ever tried to rewire a 335 you'll understand what a godsend that idea was.

This is my one;
Unfortunately not a Gibson;
Nice little guitar though and very well spec'd for a simple rocker! Found it for $240 at a pawn shop.1935 Martin D-45, 1942 Gibson Southern Jumbo,1950 Fender Broadcaster, 1954 Fender Strat, 1958 Gibson Moderne prototype, 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Nope, for NZD10,000 or so, I'd prefer the old fashioned, intact, backside

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
I reckon BB King had the right idea. Get rid of the F holes and put an access panel on the back.

For me the ergonomics of a 33X are more like an oversized chambered SG than an LP.

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
Yeah, it's a Tom Delonge 333. I grabbed it because it was cheap and I figured I'd flick it on and make some cash but it's an excellent guitar so it's staying for now. Big fat neck, gibson pickup, grovers. Rock n roll monster!
