Traded the Friedman today, had to get some cash to support the motorcycle habit. I was worried about going for the Express 5:50, but its actually a really nice amp. I changed out some tubes to brighten it up a bit and its sounding great. I would do a NAD but its probably not booteek enough to warrant it.
What’s the guitar, Nik? And are those tone napkins in the crafter?
It's a John Page Ashburn HH.

Yep that rag is from 1959 and was stored next the long tenons in the Gibson factory all year.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

What do you think about the John Page :P ?
Excellent guitar, just like a Suhr but without the "Vogue" tax.

New Setup:

Image

Tele is from Oldie, seems to be a clone of a Jim Root sig, might even be a squier or similar, still have my Tokai SG, SX Strat and my 5 string bass, but this is my go to atm.

The firehawk FX has been around for a while, not sure if i want to upgrade it to a helix version or not, time will tell.

The amp is an ISP Stealth from Nik(Zaulkin), Cab is an Orange PPC112 in black from RSDave.

Actually fits nicely under here where it will prob live for ages:

Need to work out what length cables i need and replace the pedal - amp and amp - cab ones with new and better quality ones(these are cheap 20 year old ones).

This is the current state of play. Going to have to think about how I'll get it all back to NZ. Thinking maybe buy a caravan and stuff it with gear then ship that back and sell it on to help cover the cost. Or just live in it when the Mrs throws me out... :-(

Wow, that is a haul! Leave the family behind and book a seat per guitar perhaps?
Highly likely the bank will be bare at the time, but dibs on the 77 Strat if ya move it on. Birth year n all.
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..

So here is my full setup (at my current location....)

Overkill for a Hong Kong apartment? Certainly. Excessive? Most definitely. But I have never been as happy with my sound(s) and I am inspired to play, which I do for hours at a time. I regret nothing!

More detailed photos of the pedalboard in another thread.

Thanks man. Nah this one is a Wildwood 10 from Wildwood guitars in the US, as is the Strat.

Just looks like you thought: "Right, what's the best example of everything?" Then went out and bought it.

Was it all sourced locally? Fantastic choice there I assume?

I do try to evolve in that direction as I can. Both the Wildwoods were sourced from the US. The Nash converted Les Paul was purchased here (That could be replaced with a historic at some stage!)

Almost everything else has been purchased online. There is some good stuff here. But not at great prices. And with no import duties or taxes it can be cheaper to import.
