NGD: LP Traditional
Some of you may know I’ve been GASing for an ebony Standard for a while, even more after I played Capt Black’s Tokai at the Tronfest.
Sopachrga’s LP showed up for sale, so I sold the 61 SG to fund this. Mark is great people, we had a nice wee hang and I ended up taking the LP home. Weight relief (2008 model) means it’s slightly lighter than the R8, ideal for long gigs. Nice long sustain, I had some fun playing Lizzy & GnR tuned to Eb this evening.
Only thing I’d probably change down the line is some double black coils (gotta have them) and 500k pots instead of the stock 300ks. It sounds good as is, so non urgent, maybe after a couple of gigs.

The Captain's Black Tokai really does cause a stirring in the underbrush. It even gave me Lester fever.

I'd be careful, if you use it then it might go down like a lead balloon.

Re: NGD: LP Traditional
Talk about timing, Glyn has some new pickups he wanted me to try. Called the Playmaker, they are 7.1K A2 neck and 11.8K A4 bridge. Put them in along with the 500K pots and they are sounding great so far. Should have some clips soon.
